Wednesday is brown bag lunch day. The video was “DEV 309 Test Automation with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Coded UI Tests and Lab Management”, by Brian Keller, from TechEd 2011 Atlanta. The whole thing runs out at 1hour 15 mins, a little long for 1 week, so we’re splitting over 2 weeks.
So far though good value; turned out this was Brian’s second presentation. The first one ( we hadn’t seen yet) covered manual testing, but looks like we didn’t miss too much as he does a recap in this presentation.
So far I’d found VS2010 UI automated testing good but, but Brian changed that POV by mentioning Feature Pack 2 (somehow I missed seeing this in the MSDN announcements, and only had FP1 … not for long though). FP2 adds editing of your recording as well as splitting recordings, has a good quick intro to data binding for Coded UI tests. More next week.
